BalsaAn exploration of generation of variety from the same starting point. Each maquette begins with the same size piece of balsa wood. Different sizes of the same shape (equilaterial triangle, plank, L-shape, window form) are cut from the base. Each set of similar pieces is assembled according to the logic which the shape seems to dictate. |
Side tableI wanted to create something in the style of this using a sheet of birch plywood. The legs were jigsawed to the same template then notched to slide together. The circular surface is dowel fixed onto the top, avoiding the need for special fixings. |
Drinks cabinetRestoration of drinks cabinet from local scrapyard. All faces sanded down, primed and finished in gloss internally, matt externally. Runners spray painted. |
